A Owini, subsidiária do grupo israelita Mitrelli, anunciou que vai desenvolver o Projecto PROÁGUA em Luanda, uma parceria entre o Grupo Mitrelli e a Suez International, e que tem como data prevista para o seu início Setembro de 2023. O projecto possui três pilares: reabilitação da distribuição em Luanda; aumento da produção da água e transferência de know-how e formação. De acordo com informações avançadas num encontro com jornalistas, o PROOÁGUA vai ter seis anos de duração e prevê um investimento de 200 milhões de euros.

Ainda no mesmo encontro, o director da Owini em Angola, Zafrir Vaknin, revelou que a emrpesa vai expandir os seus serviços para o Ruanda e Uganda.

Zafrir Vaknin acrescentou que 80% da actividade do Grupo Mitrelli e da Owini está em Angola, país onde foi implementado o “Projecto Água Para Todos”. Este projecto começou por abranger 152 aldeias, em cinco províncias, e contou com um investimento de 180 milhões USD. Numa segunda fase, o projecto, através de um investimento de 94 milhões USD, alcançou 62 aldeias, nas províncias de Malange e Cuando Cubango, tendo sido esta última a mais desafiante em termos logísticos. A Costa do Marfim será o próximo país a receber, com a devida adaptação e melhorias, o “Projecto Água Para Todos”.

Numa conversa descontraída com os jornalistas, Zafrir Vaknin referiu que grande parte dos projetos da Owini são com o Governo, por necessidade dos ministérios ou em forma de concurso. “Uma das vantagens da Mitrelli é que ela pode trazer financiamento para estes tipos de projectos estruturantes”, disse. Mas existem outras formas de financiamento, continuou, através da AECs (Agências de Exportação de Crédito), ou como o Projeto PROÁGUA, que será financiado pelo BPI França.

Owini expands services to Rwanda and Uganda

Having been in Angola for 10 years, the Group announced that it is starting activities in other African countries, namely Ivory Coast with water systems and Senegal with agricultural irrigation infrastructure.

Owini, a subsidiary of the Israeli Mitrelli Group, announced that it will develop the PROÁGUA Project in Luanda, a partnership between Mitrelli Group and Suez International, with a planned start date of September 2023. The project has three pillars: rehabilitation of distribution in Luanda; increased water production; and transfer of know-how and training. According to information provided in a meeting with journalists, PROOÁGUA will last six years and will require an investment of 200 million euros.

At the same meeting, Owini’s director in Angola, Zafrir Vaknin, revealed that the company will expand its services to Rwanda and Uganda.

Zafrir Vaknin added that 80% of the activity of the Mitrelli Group and Owini is in Angola, where the "Water for All Project" was implemented. This project initially covered 152 villages in five provinces with an investment of USD 180 million. In a second phase, the project, with an investment of USD 94 million, reached 62 villages in the provinces of Malanje and Cuando Cubango, with the latter being the most challenging in terms of logistics. Ivory Coast will be the next country to receive the "Water for All Project", with appropriate adaptation and improvements.

In a relaxed conversation with journalists, Zafrir Vaknin mentioned that a large part of Owini's projects are with the government, by necessity of the ministries or through public tender. "One of the advantages of Mitrelli is that it can bring financing for these types of structural projects," he said. But there are other forms of financing, he continued, through ECAs (Export Credit Agencies), or as in the PROÁGUA Project, which will be financed by BPI France.
